Design Span®hp is a performance-rated structural standing seam metal roof system with net coverage of 12", 16", 17", & 18". Design Span®hp is excellent as a roof over metal or wood decking, and as a fascia or mansard over plywood or supports.

  • Subtle striations provided as standard offering on 16", 17", & 18" panels.

Features / Benefits 

  • Subtle striations between ribs on 16" and wider panels reduce the appearance of oil-canning.
  • Available in 24 and 22 gauge in a variety of standard colors in the DuraTech®5000 and Duratech®mx (polyvinylidene flouride) coating systems, including ZACtique®II or bare Zincalume® Plus.
  • Tested in accordance with UL580 & ASTM E1592.
  • Meets UL 90 wind uplift requirement for all panel widths.
  • Has been tested for air infiltration per ASTM E1680, and water infiltration per ASTM E1646.
  • Panel assemblies are Class A Fire Rated when installed on non-combustible deck or framing per IBC or IRC.   Panel assemblies are also Class A Fire Rated per UL790 when installed in accordance to UL listings.  Refer to UL Listings & Specifications for information.
  • Can be installed over solid substrates or spaced support members at spans up to 4'-0".
  • Factory notching available for turn under at the eave (some limitations apply).
    Notch provides a clean detail and reduction in labor.
  • Factory applied sealant is standard.
  • Snap-together panel, no field seaming required.
  • Wide batten cap available for a bold appearance.
  • Recommended minimum slope of 2:12. Inquire for slopes below 2:12.
  • Manufactured in Fontana, CA and Tacoma, WA.
  • Weathertight warranty available. Minimum slope required. Contact AEP Span representative for more information. (Roof application ONLY)
  • Oil Canning: All flat metal surfaces can display waviness commonly referred to
    as “oil canning”. “Oil canning” is an inherent characteristic of steel products, not a
    defect, and therefore is not a cause for panel rejection.
